Description

Wombats are territorial and solitary animals. The wombat's body is covered with fur that can be attractive and comes in dark brown or black. The wombat has small ears and flat claws. Wombats dig underground burrows up to 100 feet long. The wombat is used for large burrows, while the wombat is used for only 3 or 4 main burrows. The main burrows intersect with other tunnels. They have several exits and chambers.

Burrows offer protection from heat and predators. Wumpts are rarely seen in the wild as they spend all day in burrows.

Wumpts are nocturnal (active at night). When the temperature drops, the wombat leaves the burrows to start searching for food.

diet

Wombats are herbivores (herbivorous animals). Their diet consists mainly of grass, roots, shrubs, moss and bark.

A vegetarian diet causes their teeth to wear out. As a result, their teeth grow constantly throughout their lives.
